Throwing my blog in with Vox
After reading about LiveJournal's layoff of American employees and the concerning shift to Russian administration, especially regarding policies and design decisions, I have decided to start copy/pasting over to Vox. (artistvictoriac.vox.com) I will still copy/paste to LJ for the time being. Vox is run by Six Apart, who has the original founder of LiveJournal as their chief architect. That means to me that it might be a good place to hold fort for a while (as in stability of the host, and ease of use). I haven't forgotten that Six Apart sold LJ to Sup in the first place.
My original homebase blog is and probably always will be at Blogger, which is owned by Google. Blogger has implemented a sort of "friends page", but I would like to see a dedicated page there, instead of just a tab on the Dashboard. The best thing about Blogger is the ability to customize not just the layout, but the sidebars and widgets. That is why I remain there as my primary blog. LJ and Vox still come up short in that dept.
LJ is the best blog with integrated social networking that I have used, and I am curious to see how well Vox takes up that design.
